I Ann Pottrell of Furneux Pelham in the county of Hertford Widow do solemnly and sincerely declare as follows, that is to say,Declared by the declarant Ann Pottrell at Furneux Pelham in the county of Hertford this twenty second day of August in the year of our lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty eight Before me Thomas Mott, a commissioner to administrate oaths in chancery in England
- I am of the age of sixty years or thereabouts
- I knew and was well acquianted with Hannah the wife of Thomas Pottrell formerly of Foulmire in the county of Cambridge and afterwards of Furneux Pelham in the county of Hertford Farmer who died in or about the year One thousand eight hundred and eighteen and was buried at Clavering in the county of Essex
- The said Hannah the wife of the said Thomas Pottrell died in or about the year One thousand eight hundred and forty six and was buried at Clavering aforesaid
- I have been informed and I verily believe that the said Thomas Pottrell married the said Hannah his wife, who was formerly Hannah Porter Spinster, in or about the year One thousand, seven hundred and ninety four at the parish church of Foulmire aforesaid and that there was Issue of their said marriage two children and no more to wit Thomas Porter Pottrell who was born in or about the year One thousand seven hundred and ninety seven and John Pottrell who was born in or about the year One thousand eight hundred.
- The said Thomas Porter Pottrell died in or about the month of February One thousand eight hundred and twenty six without, as I have been informed and I verily believe, ever having been married and was buried at Clavering aforesaid
- I was married to the said John Pottrell on the twenty second day of September One thousand eight hundred and thirty at the parish church of Albury in the county of Hertford
- The said John Pottrell died on or about the twenty sixth day of April one thousand eight hundred and forty and was buried at Furneux Pelham aforesaid
- There was issue of my marriage with the said John Pottrell five children and no more to wit Porter Pottrell who was born on the thirtieth day of October one thousand eight hundred and thirty one Sarah Pottrell who was born on the thirteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and thirty two Thomas Pottrell who was born on the twenty fourth day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty four John Chapman Pottrell who was born on the seventeenth day of November One thousand eight hundred and thirty five and Edward Pottrell who was born on the sixth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine
- The said Porter Pottrell died on or about the twenty fifth day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty and was buried at Furneux Pelham aforesaid
- And I make this solemn Declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of an Act made and passed in the fifth and sixth years of the reign of his late majesty King William the fourth entitled "An act to repeal an Act of the present session of Parliament entitled"An Act for the more effectual abolition of Oaths and Affirmations of the state and to substitute Declarations in lieu thereof and for the more entire suppression of voluntary and extrajudicial Oaths and effidavits" and to make other provisions for the abolition of unnecessary Others"
